The Gift of Peace

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid”. John 14:27.

Ever wonder why we seem to bow down to chaos and resort to doubt, unbelief and fear whenever storms rage in our lives? No matter how many times God brings us out, the minute a new threat appears we give up all we know and all we’ve experienced with God and fold like a deck of cards.  🤔

I submit to you that this is because we don’t readily and regularly cultivate the peace within us. Perhaps we see peace as something that’s based on what’s happening outside of ourselves —if good things are happening for us or around us then we experience joy.  If this is the case, does some outside force dictate our state of being?  God forbid!!

Know that Jesus left us peace — a  “piece” of Himself — and it comes with a power like none other.  So the next time the storms rage and threaten to move us to worry, doubt and fear, remember that we have the power within to change our response, calm the storms, create order out of chaos and in so doing change the environment around us.

Rest knowing that greater is He (Jesus, the Spirit of God) that is in you, than he (the spirit) that is in the world.

Love You All to Life!!
